Update!!  The HS Boys 4+ have been awarded 1st place medals based on their time versus the other boats they were supposed to race against!!  Great Job guys!

Special thanks again to Paul Barasel for motivating the teams to enter, organizing the trip and driving the trailer!!

Reports are that the last race of the season for EARC was a lot of fun!   5 boats competed in the annual Frostbite Regatta in Philly.  Full results are here.

Nicole, the stroke for the HS Girls A boat didn't quite make it to the race.  Apparently she mis-judged the dock and went for an early swim in the cold Schuylkill River and had to miss the race.  But they still put in a very strong showing.

She did make a brave recovery and returned to stroke the HS Girls B boat, which had a very good race.

Due to a starter referee change in the girls race, the HS Boys did not make it in time for their race.  Instead they were placed against the open men's double!  Their time was easily better than the others in the heat that they missed, and they beat all the doubles in their heat!   Congrats to this boat!  They are going to be hard to beat next spring!

The men's quad put in a strong showing, fighting with Penn AC for 4th place.  Perhaps once the handicap is applied, they will move up into 4th.  A composite boat from Neried, Baltimore and Vesper boat clubs finished a minute ahead of EARC and Penn AC.  That boat must have been something to watch!

The women's Novice 4+ ended their Novice careers rowing against a field of mostly college Freshman women!  They finished 4th out of 5 in their heat.   Hopefully they are all getting ergs for Christmas though, as they will be moving up to the open masters class next year!
