Newburgh - March
18, 2006
The Warwick Crew Club traveled to New Windsor on Saturday 3/18 for the annual Eastern NYS Indoor Regatta hosted by Newburgh Free Academy. This race is a 2000 meter race. While many of the club members had other commitments, including the spectacular HS Play, our small squad captured 5 of the 15 possible boy's medals, including two firsts, a second and two thirds. Together, they also had three of the six fastest times of the day, with Frank Petrucci having the fastest time (6:51.3) in the regatta (the second time he has achieved that in 3 weeks) and Eric Robotti with a time of 7:17.6. Kyle Vander Plaat had the fastest time amongst the lightweights (7:04.0) and the third fastest time of the day, beaten only by Frank and one NFA heavyweight. This is the first league race of the season for the Warwick Crew Club, and though NFA dominated in the team scoring, it was a good beginning as we look forward to our first on-water regatta on Greenwood Lake on April 8 at 10 am, held at the new town beach in GWL." |
