The annual Fox Island row was a great success!  Watch this page in the coming days for pictures and a more detailed write-up!

Our friends from Piermont joined us for a beautiful fall day of rowing and eating!  The 3 eights were powered with various EARC and Piermont rowers joined by the EARC quad, youth boys 4, youth girls 4, a Piermont pair and an EARC pair.

The weather looked to be perfect at the outset, but as we approached Fox Island, the winds increased making for a wet row back (more so for some!).  One of the Piermont oarsman decided to use the break at the island for a quick swim.  Shedding his shirt and socks, he stood up and dove out of the 8!    Simon matched this feat by swimming the last few few to the dock at the end of the row.

Once all the boats were safely back, everyone enjoyed the warm fall sunshine and ate and drank heartily..  The only food that was leftover was, for some reason, some vegemite!!

Congratulations to everyone that completed this long row!

A special thanks to Jim Pellet, Ellen, and everyone else that drove the flotilla of escort boats insuring the safety of everyone!
