Registration for our 2018 six week Adult Learn to Row program is open.

East Arm Rowing Club (EARC) conducts a Learn-to-Row (LTR) Program to teach the sport of rowing to individuals without any rowing experience. This program is a fun introduction to the sport of rowing and covers all aspects, including equipment, water safety, rowing technique, and boat handling. The focus of learn to row is developing skills to become a life long rower.

The LTR Program runs once a year, from mid-April to the first week of June.  We start with an optional class, additional $10 fee, at the West Point Boathouse on Saturday, April 14 at 9 am. The weekly training sessions will then begin the week of Sunday, April 22, on your designated day and time. Training sessions last approximately 60 minutes. The available training session times are listed on the Learn to Row Application (see link below). The LTR Program culminates with the annual “Greenwood Lake Challenge” for the Sullivan Cup on Sunday, June 3, 2018 beginning at 8 a.m. This is a friendly regatta between all the LTR teams. You must be available on race day, Sunday, June 3 beginning 8 a.m. in order to participate in this program

Every effort is made to put boats together based on preferred practice time, age, athletic ability, and competitive desire. If you already have a team together you may list all names on the application for a team of four (4) or eight (8) people but you must include a check for all rowers.

Rowers will have the same team, coach, and practice time for the duration of the program. Coaches are seasoned volunteer members of the club.

There is no limit to the number of times you may participate in this program.

We also require that you know how to swim and be able to lift 35 pounds over your head. You must also be 18 years or older to participate in this program
